When I am hungry, I may feel agitated, tired, and cranky. I experience these feelings because there is a void and it's not always food related. Can you relate?
Cravings are a signal that there is a need to be addressed. When this happens we are often misled by emotions to fill the gap rather than exploring the true desire to satisfy.

Philippians 4:19 is a reminder, "You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need, His generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus."
You can be confident that any craving or desire that you have, God is well able to satisfy what your soul truly needs. The question is whether or not the craving is a true need or a desire.
Sometimes we crave for things out of selfishness or comparison with others. It is important to identify why you are craving certain things to determine if it is truly a need or a desire. Some cravings are based upon cycles within our bodies. During the warmer seasons our bodies naturally craves water to stay hydrated. Other cravings may be genuine voids but when we try to fill them within our own power the craving temporarily goes away. We may experience temporary satisfaction while the need still exists.
True satisfaction comes when we bring the desire to God and allow Him to fulfill it. When we let Him fulfill our needs we experience wholeness in the area where there was a need or a void. If you are craving something right now, take a moment to reflect on the motive or reason for the craving and then ask God to fill it.
